Google's verification screen

When you connect Google Drive to Ayven right now, Google shows a screen saying it has not verified the app. Ayven is in Google's verification review. Until that review finishes, the screen appears every time someone connects, and you get past it through the Advanced link at the bottom left.

Getting past the screen

Choose your Google account

Start the connection from Integrations → Google Drive in the Ayven web app, or with /connect-storage on Slack or Microsoft Teams, and pick the account whose Drive you want Ayven to work in.

Google shows “Google hasn't verified this app”. The Advanced link sits at the bottom left of that screen. Open it.
Continue to Ayven

A line appears underneath reading “Go to Ayven (unsafe)”. Choose it, and Google returns you to the ordinary permission screen. Read what is being asked for there before you approve it — that screen is the one that says what the application actually gets.

“Unsafe” is Google's wording for “not yet reviewed by us”. It says nothing about what the app does with your files. What Ayven asks for is on the permission screen that follows, and you can withdraw it at any time.

Check the screen before you continue, every time. That warning is worth having: it is also what you would see if someone sent you a link to an application pretending to be one you know. Continue only if you started this connection yourself, the address bar reads accounts.google.com, and the screen names Ayven. If any of those is not true, close the tab. Nobody at Ayven will ever send you one of these links and ask you to click through it.

Why the screen is there

Google reviews any application that asks for access to a person's Drive before it removes that warning. The review covers what the application asks for, why it needs it, and an independent security assessment of the company behind it. Ayven is going through it now.

The screen is not a judgement about Ayven. It is Google saying it has not finished looking yet.

What Ayven asks for

One permission, plus the sign-in details that tell Ayven which account connected:

Your name and email address	Identifies which account the connection belongs to, so the right person's Drive is used.

You pick the folder Ayven works in when the connection completes, and you can change it afterwards in Integrations → Google Drive.

Withdrawing access

Disconnect Google Drive in Integrations → Google Drive in the web app at any time. You can also remove Ayven's access from the Google side, at your Google Account permissions, which cuts it off whatever Ayven does.

When the review finishes

The screen stops appearing, for everyone, without anyone having to reconnect. Connections made while the review was open keep working exactly as they are.

If you would rather wait for that than click through a warning, tell us and we will let you know when it is done.

You do not have to connect Drive at all

Two ways to work without it, and the agent behaves the same on Slack and Microsoft Teams either way:

Keep documents in Ayven. This is what happens if you connect nothing: Ayven stores the documents she writes herself, and your agent can start work straight away. Nothing about the Google screen applies.
Connect Notion instead. Her documents are created and kept in your Notion workspace, in the pages you choose.

Connecting Drive later changes nothing you have already done — pick either of these now and move to Drive when the review closes.

If Google refuses the connection

While a review is open, Google caps how many people may connect an application. If you see a message that the app has reached its limit rather than the warning screen, that cap is the reason. Contact support and we will sort it out with you.
